Points were tough to come by with both teams struggling to make their shots early. Nearly halfway through the first quarter, the Hornets hadn’t scored a point and Lynden led 7-0.

However, a small surge from White River made the score 12-8 heading into the second quarter. The second quarter saw even less scoring, but at the half the Lions held a 10-point lead.

Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter to keep the score gap the same. In the fourth quarter, the Lion offense found its groove and outscored the Hornets 19-5, and booked its spot in a Thursday game in Yakima.

The Lions were led in scoring by freshman guard Lexi Hermanutz with 14 points and sophomore forward Payton Mills with 10 points. Freshman guard Finley Parcher and sophomore forward Rian Stephan had nine and eight points, respectively.
