The Lions made quick work of the Cougars on the road, winning 25-6, 25-9 and 25-6.

Senior Finley Parcher picked up a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, to go with her four aces, and senior Sarah McVie used her immense athletic ability, and timing, to slam home eight kills in just 10 attempts.

Kasey DeJong and Emma Assink also each had four aces, as Lynden racked up a total of 14 aces on the night.

Izzie Stephan dished out 28 assists, and Brooke McDonald had two blocks.

 

FERNDALE 3, MERIDIAN 0

24 hours after playing Sehome to five sets, the Golden Eagles were back at home to take on the visiting Trojans, and were able to win in straight sets.

Senior setter Brooklyn Larrabee had another big night with 33 assists, 12 digs and two kills, while senior Svetlana Baydak had 17 kills and seven digs.

Senior Teia Dube added seven kills and nine digs, while Adelle Overson and Carly Garner each served up four aces.

Meridian was led by Melanie Short who led her team with nine kills and eight digs, as well as Eden Bernardy who finished with four kills and seven digs.

Bernardy and Presley Culp each finished with a team-high three aces, and Anna Nichols had nine assists.

 

BELLINGHAM 3, BLAINE 0

Even without some key players, the Bayhawks were still able to defeat the Borderites on the road in straight sets, 25-15, 25-10 and 25-14.

Freshman Hensley Hurlburt played a strong all-around game as she finished with nine kills, 13 digs and six aces, all of which led her team.

Estelle Ochs wasn’t far behind as she had seven kills, 10 digs and four aces. Morgan Brennan added 13 assists and seven digs, while Ava Wiebe dug out 11.

Blaine was led by sophomore libero Caitlin Phelps-McDonald who finished with 11 digs.

Senior Livia Weeda posted seven kills and seven digs, and sophomore Hailey Kruse served up three aces while Alexis Sylvester and Rileyann Granstrom each had four assists.

 

OAK HARBOR 3, MOUNT BAKER 2

After splitting the first four sets, the Mountaineers were on the verge of defeating the Wildcats for the first time in school history, but Oak Harbor scored the final five points of the fifth set to win in 16-14, and clinch the match on the road.

Strong defense in the back court by juniors Teagan Huntley (12 digs) and Payton Zender (10 digs), and up front by senior Rebeca Soares (five blocks), led to strong offense, which was junior setter Laila Porter who finished with 21 assists.

Senior Violet Fox was main recipient as she finished with a team-high 11 kills, and Soares added seven.

Sophomore Lily LaVergne led the Mounties with six aces, while Lily Reeves and Huntley each had five aces.
