There’s nothing worse in volleyball than losing a set by the minimum two points. It’s hard to reset your brain after that. The Storm went on the road and suffered a two-point loss in not just the first set, but the second set as well.
On the flip side, there’s nothing better in volleyball than avoiding the three-set sweep, and taking a reverse sweep. That’s exactly what Squalicum did as they took the next three sets 25-23, 25-12 and 15-5.
Senior hitter Penelope Durias led the offense with 17 kills, and the defense was again anchored by senior Bronwyn Jones who finished with 20 digs.
Freshman Lola Froese picked up a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs, which went along with her four aces.
Sophomore Avery Kettman led the Storm with six aces, as Squalicum finished with 17 as a team. Senior Alyssa Roselli had 39 assists, six digs and three aces, and senior Tiana Thompson added seven kills and a block.
