The Borderites struck first when sophomore Courtney Roff led off the bottom of the first inning with a double, and came around to score when junior Kate Koreski singled to right field. After a walk to Mesa Puls, Koreski then scored on a double off the bat of senior Aaliyah Bowman. In the bottom of the third, eighth-grader Leanna Sacknoff hit a solo homerun, and Blaine was up 3-0 going into the fourth inning. The Pioneers were able to tie it up in the top of the fourth when Alayna Vanieperen’s single scored Grace DeHoog, and an error in the field allowed Natileah Harmon and Vanieperen to come around and score. Blaine recaptured the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Bowman hit a triple to right field which scored Koreski and Charley Bakker, but Nooksack Valley did more than answer as the purple-cladded pin-stripers ripped off 11 runs in the inning, and eventually ended the season for the Borderites.
