After two scoreless innings, the visiting Lyncs pounced on the Golden Eagles with rallies in the following three innings to grab a double-digit lead. All this time while junior pitcher Roxanne Lenning sat down the first 14 batters she faced. Ferndale’s Amaya Chervenock broke Lenning’s perfect streak with a double to the left field wall, and she scored when Ari Gilday singled her in during the next at bat, but the damage had already been done as Lynden Christian junior Taya Vander Kooi went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs driven in to help power her team’s offense. Kortnee Tolsma also collected three hits, and she scored three runs. Kensley VanSoest singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

The two teams traded runs over the first two innings, and the visiting Wolverines took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Borderites were able to rip off 10 runs over the next three innings to get the non-conference win. Courtney Roff, Leanna Sacknoff and Charley Bakker each had a pair of hits, while Bakker and Mesa Puls each drove in two runs. Puls also picked up her seventh win of the season as she struck out three batters in the complete game effort.

The Red Wolves led for the first inning and a half until the Lion bats heated up as they batted around in the bottom of the second inning and took a commanding lead. It was a complete effort by the entire Lynden lineup as every player reached base, with eight different players scoring a run. Sophomores Charlotte Somma and Kasey DeJong both had two hits and two runs batted in, while Sarah McVie, Campbell DeJong and Kyleigh McVie each scored two runs. Callie Ramerman struck out 13 batters and allowed just one hit to pick up her 14th win of the season.
