The Pioneers got off to a great start as Tyler Martin led off the bottom of the first inning with a sharp single to left field, and Ethan Lind’s bunt advanced Martin to third base and Lind was safe at first. Ling then stole second base, and Matthew Blake drove them both home with a base hit into left field. Nooksack Valley was never able to get the offense going after that, as those were the only three hits of the game for the home team. The Hurricanes scored all four of their runs in the following inning, and the game remained 4-2 until the end.
