Lynden junior Callie Ramerman fires in another strike against Bellingham. She finished the game with 12 strikeouts, and broke the school record for career strikeouts with 425.

The Lions took advantage of 10 walks and being hit by a pitch five times as they picked up the shutout win on the road. Junior leadoff hitter Sarah McVie smacked three hits, including a double, to lead the Lynden offense, while Xyla Bode drove in three runs. Callie Ramerman allowed just one hit and struck out 12 batters in the complete game. By doing so, she became the school’s career leader in strikeouts as she now stands at 425. The Bayhawks hit came off the bat of senior Izzy Rogers.

The Golden Eagles came around to score 14 times over the first three innings as they cruised to the road win. Senior left fielder Hannah Swan tripled, drove in three runs and scored four runs to help power the Ferndale offense. She was joined by Nyla Kanda who scored four runs and Sianna Bob who drove in four runs. Charlotte Simon picked up her fifth win of the season in the circle.

The Mariner bats came out hot, and didn’t let up as Madeleine Hutchinson pounded two doubles, Jacinta Lewis had a double and two singles, Mariah Anderson scored three runs and Jenna Lind drove in four runs. Anderson also stole four bases, and senior pitcher Sarah Kruzich had one of her best performances of the year in the circle as she allowed just one hit and struck out 13 batters to capture her fourth win of the season.

The Rams scored three runs in the first inning, and proceeded to score in each inning after that as the Trojans fell in the first of two games on the road. Tavia Alexander led Meridian with two hits and two runs batted in, and Chloe Heinrich scored twice. Rylie Mattingley struck out three batters over five innings.

Tenino 21, Meridian 5

In their second game of the day, the Trojans got on the board first when Chloe Heinrich doubled in Tavia Alexander who had singled earlier, but the Beavers went on to score 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning, and kept the pedal down. Heinrich finished with three hits, while she and Lexi Neil each drove in two runs.

Hoquiam 10, Nooksack Valley 0

The Grizzlies were able to claw themselves out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, due to a few errors in the field by the Pioneers who weren’t able to recover after that. Grace DeHoog led Nooksack Valley with two hits, and Payton Bartl struck out five batters over three innings.

Columbia 2, Nooksack Valley 1

After five innings of scoreless softball, the Coyotes were able to push across a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Pioneers had one last inning to make it count, and it began with three straight singles by Grace DeHoog, Kayla Wooten and Ella Gundermann. DeHoog was then forced out at home in the next at bat, and the second out occurred on a strikeout. With two outs and the bases loaded, Payton Bartl’s single to left field scored one run, but the game ended in the next at bat on a lineout to centerfield. Wooten and Karson Olney each had a pair of hits for Nooksack Valley.

Burlington-Edison 15, Mount Baker 3

The Tigers showed why they are still unbeaten in conference play as they played a complete game in their victory on the road against the Mountaineers. Jadyn DeRoco led Mount Baker with two runs driven in, and Laila Porter hit a double. Cadence Cloninger struck out four batters over five innings.

Sedro-Woolley 26, Blaine 0

The powerhouse Cubs continued their onslaught through the rest of the Northwest Conference as they blanked the Borderites at home. Blaine was held without a hit, but were able to reach base four times. Twice by Charlye Bakker who walked twice, and twice by Kate Koreski who was hit by a pitch twice. Mesa Puls struck out two batters in her two innings of relief in the circle.
