The Mariners scored the first five runs of the game, and they did it over the first five innings, but the Bayhawks got hot in the bottom of the fifth and scored the next five runs of the game in one inning to tie it up. A bases loaded single up the middle by Sehome senior Gunnar Tweit in the top of the seventh inning scored Sonny Myers and Max Braunstein to give the Mariners a 7-5 lead. An error allowed two more runs to score, and Sehome was able to hold on in the bottom of the seventh to capture the road win. Tweit led the Mariners with three hits, while Geiger added another double to his Whatcom County lead, and he also struck out six batters over the final two innings to pick up the victory. Bellingham senior Alden Scott returned to the lineup and supplied a triple, a stolen base and two runs batted in. Scott also nearly homered in the bottom of the third inning, but it was taken away at the wall by leaping catch from Hudson Neff.

After both teams scored a run in the first inning, the game remained tied at 1-1 until Noah Navarrete led off the top of the seventh with a double. Dawson VanDalen followed with a walk, and Dane Marti was hit by a pitch to load the bases with nobody out. A groundout by Gordy Bedlington scored Navarette, and a base hit by Joe Bense scored VanDalen and Marti. Bense also picked up his first win of the season as he struck out eight batters over six and 2/3 innings. The Cubs rallied late by loading the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Eli Dimter was able to close the door as he got the final batter to fly out to left field.

The Borderites avenged their opening game loss to the Storm by besting them in their conference matchup on the road. The Storm led 1-0 after Hudson Johnson scored on an error in the infield, but Blaine came back in the following inning and tied it up when George Streeter came around to score on an Aaron Garza single to center field. The Borderites then took the lead in the top of the fifth inning when Josh Cochran’s base hit to left field allowed Elijah Wenger to come around and score. Ashton Vezzetti struck out nine batters, and allowed just two hits, over five innings as he picked up his first win of the season. Garza shut the door as he struck out three batters in the final two innings to grab his second save of the year.

Burlington-Edison 3, Ferndale 2

The Golden Eagles scored twice in the top of the fourth when Fenton Vasak doubled and then care around to score on a dingle from Chance Hatchett. Hatchett then scored on a groundout off the bat of Carson Brown to tie the game up at 2-2, but the Tigers were able to push across the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Senior pitcher Nolan Boleak suffered his first loss of the season, but struck out five in the complete game effort.

Lakewood 14, Mount Baker 0

The Cougars rattled off 12 runs in the top of the third inning, and coasted to the road win after that. The Mountaineers were held hitless, although Isaiah Bidwell, Toga Tigilau and Tyson Barksdale all reached with a walk, and Kamden Moa was hit by a pitch.
