After a scoreless first inning, the Lion offense came alive and scored in each of the following four innings before capturing the shutout win at home. Junior pitcher Callie Ramerman was dominant as she allowed just three base-runners and struck out nine batters in the complete game shutout. She also helped her own cause by driving in three runs. Sarah McVie added two doubles and a triple, and Kasey DeJong went 3-for-3, scored three runs and stole a base for Lynden. The Pioneer hits came from Gracie Rutgers and Maleah Loreen, while Natalie VanLiew walked and stole a base.

The Mountaineers climbed out to a 7-1 lead, but the Trojans scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth innings, and scored again in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t complete the comeback as the final out came with the tying run at the plate. Mount Baker senior Cadence Cloninger drove in four of her team’s six runs and also struck out 10 batters while in the circle. Maddi Lewis also singled, doubled and scored two runs to help power the Mountaineer offense. Meridian got a pair of hits from Chloe Heinrich and Layla Curtright. Heinrich also scored two runs and stole two bases.

The Lyncs couldn’t get past the dominant pitching performance of the Tigers, as they fell on the road. Lynden Christian received base hits from Kortnee Tolsma, Brooke VanLoo and Averly Patterson, but fell victim to 14 strikeouts. Roxanne Lenning struck out six batters without allowing a walk, but ultimately took the loss.
