The Mountaineers put a season-high nine runs on the board at home, but the only problem was that the Borderites also put up a season-high in runs, with 21. Mount Baker led 3-2 after just one inning, but Blaine put up a nine spot in the top of the second inning, and continued to put crooked numbers on the scoreboard in the following innings. Junior Josh Cochran led the Borderite offense with four hits, including a triple, four runs batted in and four runs scored. Junior Aaron Garza went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs batted in and three runs scored, and Ashton Vezzetti had a pair of hits. Senior Kai Kerwin picked up the win in relief, and Garza struck out four batters in his two innings on the mound. The Mountaineers were led offensively by Kamden Moa and Tyson Barksdale who each went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and two runs scored. Mount Baker also got two runs batted in from Zyan Paglia and Brad Strom.

Golden Eagle senior Braylon O’Breen scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth inning to give Ferndale a one-run lead, and Brayden Ebbesen then pitched a scoreless bottom of the inning to get the win on the road over the Seahawks. O’Breen and senior Fenton Vasak each had a double and two singles to lead the Golden Eagles, and Vasak also knocked in four runs. Cole Larson also had a pair of hits for Ferndale. Ebbesen came into the game with just one inning pitched so far this season, and he threw three and 1/3 innings in relief and got the win in extras.

Meridian 14, Squalicum 4

The Storm led 4-2 after four innings, but the Trojans caught fire in the top of the fifth as they exploded with 12 runs, which ultimately was the difference in the road victory. Every player in the Meridian lineup scored a run, and junior Trey Alexander picked up his second win on the season as he struck out four batters in four innings of work. Squalicum got a pair of hits from Hudson Johnson and Judah Kerman, who each stole a base as well.

Less than 24 hours after an emotional win at home, the Pioneers went on the road for an early afternoon game and came away with their second victory in a row. Freshman Lucas Woodrich went 3-for-3 at the plate, and senior Evan Brown singled, doubled and drove in two runs. Senior pitcher Crew Bauman also got the complete game victory on the mound as he struck out five and allowed just five hits.

The Mariners scored in each of the first five innings, and then rode the left arm of freshman Garrett Gibbons as he allowed just one hit over six innings to pick up his third win of the season. Infielders Gunnar Tweit and Jad Geiger each had three hits to power the Sehome offense, while Tweit, Tyson Goodman and Hudson Neff each scored two runs.

The Wildcats ran off six runs in the bottom of the first inning, and it proved to be too much for the Lyncs to overcome as they suffered their first loss of the season. Eli Maberry and Iggy Frost each had a pair of hits for Lynden Christian, and Sam Kok drew a walk all four times that he came up to the plate.

Sedro-Woolley 13, Bellingham 8

The Bayhawks scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning but were unable to complete the comeback at home against the Cubs who pounded out 12 hits. Senior Joe Harward knocked in two runs and stole two bases, while nine different players reached base for Bellingham. Eric Helfield pitched four and 1/3 innings and struck out two batters, but he took the loss for the Bayhawks.

The Lions were blanked at home against the defending 3A state champions as senior Matthew Carroll struck out five batters in nearly five innings of work, but the suffered his first loss of the season. Junior shortstop Gordy Bedlington led Lynden with two hits, while the Lions also received base hits from Spencer Adams and Kannon Honcoop.
