Down 1-0 in the bottom of the third on their senior night, the Lions swung the momentum in their favor in a big way. Senior Spencer Adams sent a ball over the left field fence for a two-run home run to take the lead. From there it was a duo of diving stops from shortstop Gordy Bedlington and second baseman Matthew Carroll and two more runs scored off the bats of Carroll and Dane Marti. Sophomore pitcher Joe Bense picked up his second win as he struck out six batters over six innings, and Eli Dimter picked up the save.

Meridian 13, Lakewood 2

The Trojans ended a six-game losing skid by scoring nine runs in the first two innings at home against the Cougars before cruising to the win. Trevyn Crabtree hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning which set the tone for the rest of the game, and he finished with five runs batted in. Pierce and Lincoln Brzozowski each scored three runs, and Trey Alexander went four innings to pick up his third win of the season.

Senior centerfielder Hudson Neff hit a double, two singles and scored two runs as he led the Mariner offense to the road win over the Borderites. Meanwhile, on the mound, Jad Geiger struck out five batters and didn’t allow a hit to pick up his third win of the season, and freshman Garrett Gibbons struck out three batters and grabbed the save. Geiger also had two hits, two runs batted in and two stolen bases. Blaine’s lone hit came off the bat of senior Kai Kerwin, and junior Josh Cochran struck out eight batters in his six innings of work.

Squalicum 8, Mount Baker 0

The Storm ripped off three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and used it to catapult them to the home win over the Mountaineers. Junior leadoff hitter Ty York hit two doubles and a single to help lead the Squalicum offense. Junior pitcher Hudson Johnson did a little bit of everything as he struck out 12 batters and allowed just three hits in the complete game shutout while going 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs batted in. Mount Baker senior Kamden Moa struck out seven batters, and teammates Tyson Barksdale, Zyan Paglia and Brad Strom each recorded a hit.

Sedro-Woolley 5, Ferndale 4

The Golden Eagles led 4-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Cubs scored four runs with two outs to steal the walk off win. Sophomore Chance Hatchett drove in two runs, and Brayden Ebbesen scored twice for Ferndale. Senior pitcher Nolan Boleak struck out eight batters, and went over 100 strikeouts in his career, before hitting the pitch count limit.

Oak Harbor 7, Nooksack Valley 3

A sacrifice bunt by Lucas Woodrich scored Tyler Martin to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third, and Trevek McMillen followed up with a two-run double which gave the Pioneers a 3-1 lead at home. The Wildcats then countered with four runs in the following inning before taking the road win. Matthew Blake struck out six batters in five innings on the mound.

Burlington-Edison 4, Bellingham 0

Senior pitcher Kai Nelson went five innings and struck out eight batters, but it wouldn’t be enough against the Tigers on the road. Senior catcher Joe Harward hit his Whatcom County leading fourth triple of the season, but was unable to come around and score.

Mount Vernon 7, Lynden Christian 1

Senior Sam Kok blasted a homerun in the top of the fourth, but that would be the only offense for the Lyncs who suffered their fourth straight conference loss. Lynden Christian also got hits from Eli Maberry and Vance Elton.
