Bellingham's Mary Lockhart and Mount Baker's Natalie VanLiew fight for possession of the ball.
  • Bellingham 50, Mount Baker 31

The Bayhawks snapped a 10-game losing streak by avenging a loss they suffered to the Mountaineers nearly two months ago.

Mount Baker was without its best inside player, Jenna Wineinger, and Bellingham took advantage by scoring multiple times in the paint early on as the Bayhawks took a 17-10 lead after the first quarter.

Bellingham continued to stretch its lead as the game wore on.

Sophomore Lily Jude was on fire in the mid-range game and she led the Bayhawks with 14 points, while sophomore Mary Lockhart (13 points and 12 rebounds) and freshman Merritt Jensen (13 points and 11 rebounds) each finished with double-doubles.

The Mountaineers were led by sophomore Natalie Van Liew who had 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, and freshman Violet Fox who finished with 10 points and five steals.

  • Oak Harbor 48, Meridian 37

The Trojans took an early 14-6 lead, but the Wildcats came back to tie it up at 21-21 at the half.

Oak Harbor then scored 18 points in the third quarter, and pulled away with the home win.

Freshman forward Eden Bernardy headed the Trojan attack with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Fellow freshman Maddy Swanson added eight points and seven rebounds.

  • Burlington-Edison 62, Blaine 24

The Tigers roared out to a 14-4 lead after one quarter of play, and 34-8 at the half, and the Borderites weren’t able to climb out of the hole.

Blaine senior Jordyn Vezzetti scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome one of the top 2A teams in the state.

Freshman Teia Dube added six points and six rebounds.
