Borderite pitcher Diego Gutierrez put up quite the performance in his varsity debut, with a complete game victory on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers scored all four of their runs in the first two innings, but Gutierrez settled down after that and allowed just one hit and struck out six batters in his final four innings. Mason Akre scored four runs, and Axel Puls had three hits and three runs batted in to lead Blaine offensively.

The Mariners were led offensively once again by senior catcher Carson Neff who knocked in three of Sehome’s four runs, but ultimately came out on the losing side against the school from Oregon. Neff also struck out six batters in six innings of work. Sehome also lost on Friday afternoon to Hockinson, 12-1.
