Junior Lane Simonsen pitched brilliantly against a strong Seahawk squad, as he allowed just three hits, zero walks and struck out 13 batters on his way to the complete game shutout. Senior third baseman Lincoln VanDiest led the way offensively with a pair of base hits.

A one-out single by center fielder Anthony Rabang in the top of the fifth scored Tyson Rightmire and Daniel Washburn, and that was all what was needed for the Mountaineers as they picked up their first win of the season. Senior Elijah Washburn allowed just one hit over six innings while striking out six batters, and his brother Daniel closed it out to get the save.

The Lyncs offense got a much needed boost on Thursday, exploding for 14 hits and 16 runs to snap a four-game losing streak. Sophomore second baseman Austin Engels had three hits, including two doubles, and scored four runs for Lynden Christian. Eli Maberry and Isaac Paxton also had three hits each, and Jonah Terpstra had four runs batted in.

Junior lefty Camden Raymond struck out five batters and allowed two hits in the complete game victory for the Golden Eagles. He also knocked in a pair of runs to help his cause. Senior Jake Mason hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and finished with five runs batted in. The Mariners got base hits from Carson Neff and Greyson Mack.

The Bayhawks rode a hot second inning to victory, scoring seven of their eight runs. Junior first baseman Jesse Harward collected two hits, two runs and two RBI’s for Bellingham, which was also boosted by the first game of the season by senior catcher Ethan Brimble who also knocked in two runs. The Trojans were led offensively by Hunter Jones and Jaeger Fyfe who each had a pair of hits.

The Storm led 2-1 for a majority of the contest, but a 3-run bottom of the sixth by the Wildcats flipped the script for Squalicum. The Storm picked up hits from Chase Andersen, Eli Knowlton, Dylan Johnson and Brady Scammell. Ben Hebert struck out six batters and allowed just three hits in the tough-luck loss.

Mount Vernon 8, Blaine 1

Borderite senior Axel Puls knocked in Grady Swinburson in the first inning, but that would be all the offense Blaine could muster as the Bulldogs used two big innings to gain the victory. Puls finished with two hits, with Josh Audette picking up the third Borderite hit.

Burlington-Edison 13, Nooksack Valley 7

The Pioneers scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 7-6 lead. The Tigers scored a run in the top of the sixth to tie the game, and ultimately send it into extra innings, which saw Burlington-Edison go off for six more runs in the top of the eighth. Mathew Blake and Bennett DeLange each had a pair of hits for Nooksack Valley, and Kasey Newton hit a triple and scored two runs.
