Blaine 5, Burlington-Edison 3

When right fielder Anthony Hirsch walked into the batter’s box in the bottom of the second inning with two outs, he was just hoping to put the ball in play, and keep the inning alive. But, in this, his first varsity at-bat, Hirsch instead sent a 1-and-1 pitch over the leftfield fence for a home run. It gave Blaine a 3-1 lead, which ultimately led to a Borderite victory. Junior Kieran Marksuen was marvelous on the mound, again going the full seven innings, this time striking out 10 batters without surrendering a walk.

Lynden 7, W.F. West 4

A five-run top of the fourth broke the game wide open for the Lions, and it was spear-headed by RBI base hits from seniors Kobe Baar, Kaedan Hermanutz and Campbell Nolte. Junior Lane Simonsen allowed just one hit over six innings of work. He also struck out seven batters on his way to picking up his ninth career varsity victory. Senior second baseman Eli Migchelbrink had a pair of hits, including a double while senior shortstop Bubba Parcher walked twice and scored two runs.

Lynden Christian 5, Mount Vernon Christian 1

The Lyncs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings and never looked back as LC picked up its first victory of the season. Senior Lane Dykstra went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in, while also picking up the win on the mound after going five innings, giving up three hits, one unearned run and striking out six. Jonah Terpstra threw the final two innings to pick up the save, and he also scored two runs for Lynden Christian

Ferndale 9, Squalicum 3

The Golden Eagle offense scored in nearly every inning on the road in the win over the Storm. Senior pitcher Dylan Strom threw five strong innings, allowing just one hit and striking out seven batters to get the victory for Ferndale. Squalicum’s Ben Hebert pitched courageously, striking out six batters and allowing three hits over five and 2/3 innings of work. Jake Mason led the Ferndale offensive attach with two hits and two runs batted in.

Bellingham 4, Mount Baker 3

The Bayhawks put across three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take away a win from the Mountaineers. With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, freshman Alden Scott came up to bat with his team down 3-2. Scott then singled on a fly ball to centerfielder which scored Kai Nelson and Wyatt Harris to win the game. It was the second time in two games this season that Baker was walked off. Former Mountie Jesse Harward also had a big day at the plate for Bellingham, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
