BELLINGHAM – Anacortes put on a strong show at the Northwest Conference Girls Swimming Relay Meet at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center on Friday. There were no team scores at the meet, but qualifying times did count, and it was a good introduction around the conference for new athletes.
Sehome and Squalicum were very competitive throughout, as was Bellingham, as they all tried to keep up with the Seahawks. Ferndale and Lynden also had some competitive relays as they both pushed for top spots at different points of the relays.
It should be a very competitive season with some extremely close meets.
Lynden opens up its season at Anacortes on Tuesday at 2:55, while Ferndale will also be in action on Tuesday when they host Burlington-Edison.
Bellingham will begin on Thursday at 3:30 when they host Burlington-Edison, and Squalicum will begin at Sedro Woolley on Thursday at 6:30.
Sehome will host Sedro Woolley next Tuesday (9/24) at 3:30.
