BELLINGHAM – The Red Wolves broke multiple big plays in the first half, and used them to conquer the Bayhawks 31-6 at Civic Stadium on Friday night.

Cedarcrest scored first on 97-yard touchdown run, and then on a 24-yard touchdown, both of which were in the first quarter.

The Red Wolves then returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown to open the second quarter. One touchdown (and 40-yard field goal) later, Cedarcrest held a comfortable 31-0 lead at the half.

Bellingham had a few strong drives, but was only able to get into the end zone once, when junior quarterback Max Rasset connected with senior wide receiver James Quinlan from seven yards out.

Rasset tied a career-high with 15 completions, which he converted into 121 yards. Senior running back Alex Breeding caught five of those passes, while senior tight end Daniel Reyes led in receiving yards with 37.

Reyes also continued his tremendous defensive play with 7.5 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack. Senior nose tackle Nathaniel Gass also had two sacks, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss.

Bellingham (2-5) will travel to Mount Vernon (0-7) on Friday to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00.
