The Mariners upped their record to 5-2 by defeating the Turks on the road in straight sets.
Sehome was able to serve up 21 aces as a team, with Radler Rosellison leading the way with seven of them, to go with her five digs and four kills. Hadley Crovo served up six aces on the evening as well.
Brooklyn Flamer played strong at the net as she led her team with seven kills and two blocks, and Jackie Hurley had a team-high 16 digs to go with her four aces. Taylor Turrell dished out 22 assists, and also had five kills.
MERIDIAN 3, MOUNT BAKER 0
The Trojans were able to defeat the Mountaineers on the road, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-15, to pick up their third win in a row and get to .500 on the season.
Melanie Short led the way offensively with 18 kills, while Eden Bernardy had nine kills and six digs, but it was her eight aces that really made the difference.
Amelia Koning and Presley Culp tied for the team lead with eight digs each, while Kendall Stacy and Anna Nichols combined to total 34 assists.
Mount Baker was led by Violet Fox who finished with nine kills, and Laila Porter who added 13 assists, seven digs a block and an ace.
Ellie Galbraith finished with a game-high three blocks at the net, and Payton Zender had six digs.
LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, BLAINE 0
Despite being down two hitters, the Lyncs still managed to pick up the sweep against the visiting Borderites.
Senior Taya Vander Kooi racked up seven aces, and she was closely followed by Lyla Parriera who served up five aces.
Jocelyn Eshuis led the offensive with 14 kills, as well as they defense with two blocks. Ellie Pierce added nine kills and Emeri Fritts finished with 11 assists.
Blaine was led by sophomore Caitlin Phelps-McDonald who finished with seven digs.
Livia Weeda added two blocks, three digs and 1.5 blocks.
MOUNT VERNON 3, NOOKSACK VALLEY 0
The Pioneers fell to .500 after being defeated in straight sets on the road against the Bulldogs.
Kendall Juergens had 13 digs, and Elizabeth DeLange had 10 kills, but it wouldn’t be enough against the tough 3A squad.
Finley Mitchell had 20 assists, two aces and a block, and Karson Olney added nine digs. Raegan Burke also had four kills and two blocks.
