Sehome 2, Bellingham 1
The Bayhawks got on the board first when Stella Eltrich found Jane Goldsberry for a goal, but a corner kick by Sehome’s Amaia Reid snuck into the goal just before halftime to tie the game at 1-1.
The two city rivals battled it out in the second half, and Mariner senior Vivian Moss launched a shot just over the keeper’s head and into the back of the net to give Sehome the lead. It had appeared that Bellingham tied the game late, but just seconds before, the whistle blew as the ball had just rolled out of bounds.
Sehome held on for the win to capture its fourth straight 2A district championship. It was the first loss of the season for the Bayhawks, who will now play Anacortes at noon on Saturday at Civic Stadium for the final spot in the 2A state tournament.

The Golden Eagles were unable to get on the scoreboard, but are still alive in the 3A district tournament. Despite the loss, Ferndale will play Edmonds-Woodway at 1:00 on Saturday at Shoreline Stadium. The winner will go to state, and the loser will be eliminated.
The Golden Eagles lost to the Warriors last Saturday in a shootout after a scoreless regulation and overtime.
