The Mountaineers picked up their first win of the season as they took advantage of 11 walks and smacked 10 hits. Senior Cadence Cloninger scored four runs to lead Mount Baker, while her, Zaida Haynes, Jadyn DeRoco and Mila LoPrestio all tripled. Haynes and Maddi Lewis each scored three runs. Cloninger also got the complete game win in the circle, and she finished with seven strikeouts.

The Golden Eagles flew out to an 11-0 lead before the Cougars entered the batter’s box, and they were able to add on from there. Freshman Nyla Kanda sparkled in her varsity debut as she went 4-4 with a triple at the plate and six runs batted in. She also walked once, scored three times, and didn’t allow a hit over three innings in the circle. Hannah Swan and Hadley Pike each drove in three runs, while Maddy Slevin walked four times and Ari Gilday scored four runs in the complete team effort.

Senior shortstop Campbell DeJong tripled three times and junior Callie Ramerman struck out 11 batters and allowed just one hit as the Lions grabbed the conference victory over the Wildcats. DeJong also drove in five runs, while her and Sarah McVie each scored three runs. Lynden also got a pair of hits from Charlotte Somma and Piper Arneson.

After being down 4-0, the Trojans exploded for six runs in the top of the second inning, but were unable to cross home plate after that. Gretchen Zandstra led Meridian with three hits, and Chloe Heinrich singled, doubled and stole a base. Pitcher Rylee Mattingley struck out four batters but took the loss.
