The lone Bayhawk win of the season came on opening day at Lynden, and they had lost four straight coming into the game. It looked for for Bellingham early on as early walks and an error led the Bayhawks to a 2-0 lead after one inning, and a 3-1 lead after two innings. However, the Lions put a crooked number up in the third inning when Kannon Honcoop led off with a bunt single, and Gordy Bedlington followed it up with a bunt of his own, and he reached base with an error. Eli Dimter was then hit by a pitch, and Spencer Adams came up with the bases loaded an no outs. His single to right field tied the game at 3-3, and a follow-up bunt single by Matthew Carroll loaded the bases once again. Dane Marti drew a walk to give Lynden the lead, and the Lions scored again a few batters later when Dawson VanDalen drew a bases-loaded walk, and Carroll stole home to score the sixth run of the inning. Despite early control issues, Gavin Guttormson picked up the win on the mound as he struck out 11 batters over five innings, and Dimter picked up the two-inning save.
