The Lions used a four-run fourth inning to extend their lead, and ultimately land the victory at home. It included a sacrifice bunt by Noah Navarrete which scored Connor LeBel, and that was followed by a single up the middle by Kannon Honcoop which scored Dawson VanDalen. Two pitches later Gordy Bedlington hit a line-drive to left field, and when the ball went off the fielder’s glove it kept the momentum going for Lynden as Honcoop scored and Bedlington hustled to third base. Bedlington then scored two pitches later on an error. Senior pitcher Gavin Guttormson evened his record at 2-2 as he went the distance while striking out 12 batters and walking just two. The Pioneers got a solo homerun and a double from freshman infielder Lucas Woodrich.
