Mount Baker 19, Ferndale 9

Mallory Butenschoen, Kaelin Blakley and Jaycena Lajuan all hit homeruns within the first two innings, and the Golden Eagles held an 8-1 advantage heading into the third. However, it’s hard to completely silence the Mountaineer bats and Mount Baker went on to score multiple runs in every inning from there on out. Senior Ava Jeretzky went 5-for-6 with a double, a homerun and nine runs batted in. Junior Annalee Cohn reached base six times, and she scored every time, and senior Ella Maloley had three hits including her first career homerun.

It was a one-run game through three innings of play, but the Lion offense started to roar in the fourth inning and it never stopped. Senior Trinity Andrew pitched brilliantly as she struck out nine batters in six innings, and she allowed one infield hit. Junior shortstop Melanie Anderson did a little bit of everything with a single, a triple, three runs batted in, three runs scored and two stolen bases, and both Campbell and Childrey DeJong smacked a double.

Oak Harbor 11, Nooksack Valley 9

A strong start by the Pioneers turned into the lead changing hands multiple times before the Wildcats eventually held on in the final few innings. Junior catcher Alayna Dykstra led the Nooksack Valley offense with four hits including her sixth homerun of the season, and she was aided by Kenzie Likkel who had three hits and three runs batted in.

The Lyncs got a single and a double from junior Kassidy VanSoest, and a triple from freshman Kortnee Tolsma, but Lynden Christian was unable to push across a run at home against the Bulldogs.
