Despite a losing record in conference play, the Tigers gave the Lions everything they could handle early on before Lynden began to separate in the third quarter.

Junior forward Brant Heppner made 5-of-10 shots and led the Lions with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Senior guard Charlie Ayres made four of his six shots, all five of his free throws, and finished with 14 points and four assists.

Senior guard Anthony Canales scored 12 points and senior center Ty Holleman added 11 points.

  • Lakewood 68, Meridian 63

The Trojans missed two three-point shots in the final 10 seconds of the contest that would have tied the game, and the Cougars came up victorious at home.

Junior guard Talon Jenkins shot 9-of-12 from the field, including 6-of-9 from downtown as he led Meridian with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior guard Taran Burks had 14 points and four assists, while junior guard Jaeger Fyfe finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

After an even first quarter, the Wildcats rattled off 47 points in the next two quarters before taking the home win.

Junior forward Darius Gilstrap led the Mountaineers with 14 points and six rebounds.

Junior forward Luke Smith finished with nine points and three steals, and junior guard Chris Armbright added eight points.
