LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, FERNDALE 2

The Lyncs came out strong to beat the Golden Eagles in the first set, 25-17, but Ferndale answered back 25-22 in the second set.

Meyer

Lynden Christian won 25-16 in the third set, and looked to wrap up the match in the fourth set, up 18-14, but the Golden Eagles came back to win 25-20.

LC then went on to win 15-9, in what was their second 5-set match in as many nights.

Butenschoen

The Lyncs were led by the outside hitting of Ellie Mayer, who had 11 kills and an ace. Taya VanderKooi kept her strong season of service alive with five aces of her own.

Ella Fritts also finished with 30 assists and Audrey Ellingboe racked up 34 digs.

Ferndale had strong performances by Mallory Butenschoen who tallied eight kills and 19 digs. Jilly Fox led with 10 kills, and Tia Gilday had eight kills to go with her three blocks.

Freshman Brooklyn Larrabee served up five aces while also dishing out 31 assists and digging out 16.

MERIDIAN 3, OAK HARBOR 1

Claeys

The Trojans took the first set, 25-23, and the Wildcats answered back with a 25-22 win of set two. But, Meridian prevailed by winning the next two sets, 25-23 and 25-16, to stay unbeaten.

Emry Claeys led her team with 23 kills on a .354 hitting percentage, while Gracie Pap hit .417 with six kills.

Rylan Bernardy was fantastic defensively with 22 digs, and Grace Wells dished out 33 assists to go with her four aces, including the match point.

LAKEWOOD 3, SQUALICUM 1

Swayne

After splitting the first two sets with identical scores of 25-20, the Cougars bested the Storm 25-15 in the third set, and 25-12 in the fourth set to take the victory.

Squalicum was led offensively by Olivia Swayne who posted eight kills, and defensively by Jolie Paz who had nine digs and a 2.0 serve receive.

Sophie Ferris also had seven aces and seven digs.

 

SULTAN 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Cohn

Despite losing in three sets, the Mountaineers improved from their match on Wednesday with Bellingham.

After losing the first set, 25-13, Mount Baker put the Turks to the limit before losing the second set 25-22. The Mounties then dropped the third set 25-15.

Annalee Cohn gave out 16 assists, while also scoring three aces, three kills and three digs. Dakota Jimmie dug out 12 and served an ace.

Up front, Maddi Lewis, Emilee Anderson and Amariah Nutting combined for 11 kills and eight digs.
