  • Bellingham 64, Nooksack Valley 50

The Bayhawks went on the road and were carried by a strong shooting performance early on before taking the victory over the Pioneers.

Junior guard Harmon Wienkers hit four 3-pointers in the first half, and finished the game with 17 points, and senior point guard Wyatt Stephan shot 7-of-12 from the field and scored a game-high 19 points.

Senior forward Kincade VanHouten also buried a couple of deep balls, and finished with 13 points for the victors.

Nooksack Valley was led junior forward Tristan Kamhpouse who came off the bench to score 14 points, and shoot 4-of-7 from 3-point land. Junior point guard Caden Heutink scored 12 points, and junior forward Colton Lentz contributed 10 points.

  • Lynden Christian 68, Seattle Academy 38

The Lyncs used a 16-5 run in the second quarter to vault them ahead of the Cardinals at home.

The quickness of senior guard Dawson Bouma allowed him to knife into the defense, pull up and drain shots all afternoon long. He made the first of his four attempts from downtown, and finished with a game-high 22 points.

His back court running mate Gannon Dykstra wasn’t far behind with 15 points, and he also dished out eight assists.

Senior forward Kayden Stuit put up another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Lyncs.

  • Blaine 70, Oak Harbor 53

The Borderites used a strong second half to come back and defeat the Wildcats on the road.

Like most teams, Blaine relies heavily on the outside shot, and those shots were falling for the Borderites on Saturday night.

Junior guard Josiah Weeda led the way with 23 points, including 15 of those points coming from behind the arc. Senior forward Noah Tavis scored 16 points, and lightning quick senior guard Justin Minjarez tossed in 14 points.

  • Sehome 69, Mariner 32

Senior guard Austin McKay had another big night, this time scoring 21 points, to lead the Mariners to their third straight win.

Senior center Braddock Duckworth also came up big with 16 points, and sophomore Nolan Wright added 10 points.

Sophomore forward Carter Duckworth contributed eight points off the bench in the road victory.

  • Anacortes 77, Mount Baker 47

Sophomore guard Carter Hill drained five 3-pointers, and finished with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Mountaineers fell at home to the Seahawks.

Anacortes was playing its first game of the season, due to a state championship run during the football season, and was led by the 47 points of 6’5″ star guard Davis Fogle.

Mount Baker also got eight points from junior Cole Lukes, and seven points from Luke Smith and sophomore Peyton Abitia.
