On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1993: Mount Baker junior wide receiver Mike Perez set a school record by totaling 172 receiving yards in a 37-18 loss at Lynden Christian. His record stood for six years.

1993: Nooksack Valley junior running back Britt Lentz set a school record by rushing for 296 yards in a 35-14 win over Blaine. 27 years later, Lentz’s school record still stands today.

1999: Sehome senior running back Evan Zaslow set a school record by rushing for 5 touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Shorewood. The Mariners also set a team record by rushing for 445 yards, and both records still stand.

2010: Squalicum won a 49-41 shootout over Sedro Woolley, and in the process two school records were set. Senior quarterback Tyler Goodrich threw for 305 yards, and senior wide receiver Thomas Rawls totaled 233 receiving yards. Goodrich’s record stood for three years, and Rawls’ record still stands today.
