DEMING – After Squalicum won the first two sets, 28-26 and 25-20, it looked like it could be a quick night in the Deming Dome on Wednesday. But, the Mountaineers fought back to win the third set 26-24 to gain the momentum back. And then they won the fourth set 25-12 and the fifth and deciding set 15-9 for the overall win.

LaVergne

Sophomore Grace LaVergne was the catalyst with her sharp serving game to help overcome Mount Baker being down two sets to none. She also finished with nine kills, 25 digs and 28 assists.

Senior Ripley Reardon added 13 kills, junior Trinity Anderson had 14 kills and sophomore Hayley Jimmie finished with 31 digs.

The Mounties (3-9) will finish off the season at Meridian (8-4) on Saturday at 7:00. This game will serve as a fundraiser for former Meridian volleyball player Yashleen Singh, who was involved in a horrific car accident last spring. Singh will be sitting on the Trojan bench during the game!

  1. Someone please let Tyler Anderson know that Grace spells her last name LaVergne, not Levergne. Thank you!
