Eshuis

The Lyncs wo their third straight match of the season, this time by defeating the 3A Wildcats on the road in straight sets.

6-foot-2 senior Jocelyn Eshuis, who has committed to play volleyball at Seattle University, was dominant at the net with 20 kills and a pair of blocks to lead Lynden Christian.

Reigning Defensive Player of the Week, Lyla Parriera, kept her strong season going with 20 digs, while sophomore setter Emeri Fritts ran the show with 17 assists.

Junior Tyra Dykstra added eight kills and nine digs, while senior Charlotte Miller added seven digs and a team-high three aces.

 

MOUNT VERNON 3, MOUNT BAKER 1

Zender

After losing the first set 25-22, the Mountaineers got in the swing of things in the second set and beat the Bulldogs 25-18 to even the match at 1-1 at home. Mount Vernon came back strong in the third, taking it 25-15 and even stronger in the fourth as the 3A team won 25-7.

Junior libero Payton Zender was all over the court as she totaled 23 digs, and senior Rebeca Soares led Baker with seven kills and three blocks.

Junior setter Laila Porter ended with 24 assists to go with her seven digs, and sophomore Lily LaVergne had a team-high three aces.

Senior Emma Richardson and Violet Fox each had six kills, and freshman Ellie Galbraith added five kills and two blocks.

 

LA CONNER 3, BLAINE 0

Sylvester

The Borderites fell on the road in straight sets against the Braves.

Senior Livia Weeda led the offensive attack with a team-high eight kills, and she also had all three of her team’s aces.

Sophomore setter Alexis Sylvester led Blaine with nine assists, and she also picked up five digs, and sophomore Rileyann Granstrom added six assists and seven digs.

Sophomore Caitlin Phelps-McDonald had a team-high 12 digs, while Weeda and freshman Lexi Black combined on a block.
