FERNDALE 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 1

After losing the first set 25-15 on the road, the Golden Eagles did a complete reset and came out with more intensity to take the next three sets from the Lyncs.

Senior Brooklyn Larrabee spent most of the night setting up multiple teammates with her 42 assists, but it was her final two kills in the fourth set that led to and ace from senior Svetlana Baydak to close the night.

Baydak finished with 23 kills and 11 digs, while senior Teia Dube had 18 kills, nine digs and a team-high three aces. Larrabee also added a team-high 14 digs.

Junior Adelle Overson had eight kills and two blocks, and senior Sarvir Bhachu had 1.5 blocks.

Lynden Christian was led by junior Tyra Dykstra who finished with 10 kills, six digs and two aces, while senior Lyla Parriera had 14 digs.

Senior Jocelyn Eshuis added nine kills, two aces and two blocks, and sophomore Jess DeJong had six kills and a block.

Sophomore Emeri Fritts dished out 15 assists, and senior Taya Vander Kooi had a game-high four aces.

 

SEHOME 3, BELLINGHAM 0

The Mariners traveled across town and defeated the Bayhawks in straight sets.

Junior Brooklyn Flamer had 10 kills, with an incredible hitting percentage of .833, to help lead Sehome to the victory.

Junior Radler Rosellison neared a double-double with nine kills, 11 digs and she also posted a team-high four aces, while senior Paige Flory did the same with 10 kills and nine digs.

Junior setter Taylor Terrell handed out 39 assists while also picking up eight digs and three kills, and senior Jackie Hurley had a team-high three aces.

Bellingham’s stats were not available at the time of posting, but will be added to the statistical database once they are received.

 

NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, CEDAR PARK CHRISTIAN 0

The Pioneers traveled south and took care of business as they defeated the Eagles 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18.

Senior Elizabeth DeLange led offensively and defensively as she posted team-highs with 13 kills and seven digs.

Sophomore setter Finley Mitchell finished with 33 assists, and another one of her main recipients was freshman Allie Reynolds who added nine kills.

Senior Karson Olney had five digs and three aces, while junior Mallory Mason had a team-high four aces and Mitchell finished with two aces.

 

LYNDEN 3, SULTAN 0

The Lions continued their dominance of the young season, this time on the road as they defeated the Turks 25-7, 25-9 and 25-7.

Senior Finley Parcher had a team-high 13 kills and nine digs to lead Lynden, while junior Hadley Lamp tied her with nine digs as well.

Junior setter Izzie Stephan lofted up 26 assists, and also finished with a team-high three blocks. The Lions also racked up 12 aces, with junior Emma Assink leading the way with four, while Lexi Hermanutz and Olivia Stuart each had six kills.

 

SQUALICUM 3, BURLINGTON-EDISON 0

The Storm were strong at home as they swept the Tigers 25-12, 25-11 and 25-15.

The service line was friendly to Squalicum as the home team totaled 15 aces, and leading the way was freshman Lola Froese with six, to go with her six digs and four kills.

Senior Penelope Durias had a team-high five kills, while sophomore Avery Kettman did a little bit of everything with four aces, three blocks, two kills and two digs.

Senior Bronwyn Jones dug out 13, senior Raegan Wheeler added five digs and senior setter Alyssa Roselli was once again in command of the offense as she finished with 18 assists to go with four kills, six digs and two aces.

 

MERIDIAN 3, OAK HARBOR 0

The Trojans picked up their first win of the year at home as they defeated the Wildcats 25-20, 25-19 and 25-23.

The power and grace of junior Melanie Short and senior Eden Bernardy proved to be too much as Short finished with 17 kills and Bernardy had 14 kills. They each also had eight digs to lead the team.

Junior setter Kendall Stacy had 22 assists, and Hailee Thomas had a team-high four aces.

Onica Martin added seven digs, and she was closely followed by Amelia Koning who finished with six digs.
