The Borderites were close to winning their first match of the season by taking the first two sets 25-20 and 25-23, but the Vikings stormed back to take the next three sets, 25-20, 25-15 and 15-12.
Senior Livia Weeda finished with a double-double as she posted 11 kills and 11 digs to go along with her team-high two blocks.
Sophomore libero Caitlin Phelps-McDonald had team-high’s 23 digs and three aces, while sophomore setter Rileyann Granstrom ended with 13 digs and 11 assists.
