The Trojans scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead at home, but the Pioneers poured in seven runs in the following inning, and every Nooksack Valley player in the starting lineup came up with a hit as they picked up the win. The Pioneers received a single, double, triple, and three runs driven in by Kestyn Wagter as she helped power the offense. Natalie VanLiew also drove in three runs, while Grace DeHoog and Maleah Loreen each had three hits. Payton Bartl pitched the complete game as she struck out nine batters and didn’t allow a walk. The Trojans got a pair of hits from Tavia Alexander and Chloe Heinrich.
