The Bayhawks kept their season alive behind a tremendous performance by senior Judah Straight who record a hat trick, and Bellingham moves on to play at Archbishop Murphy on Tuesday at 6:00 in another loser-out contest.

Sehome 4, Burlington-Edison 1

The Mariners got a complete effort up and down the lineup by defeating the Tigers and advancing to the district championship. Sehome got goals from seniors Reiley Buri-Brown, Asher Sullivan, Kyle Diefel, and junior Rudy Zurcher. The Mariners will face Squalicum at Civic Stadium on Tuesday at 7:00 where the winner will punch their ticket to state.

 

Squalicum 2, Archbishop Murphy 1

Senior Simon Egner and sophomore Cody McCaulley each scored a goal to lead the Storm to victory over the Wildcats. Squalicum will face Sehome for the district championship at Civic Stadium on Tuesday at 7:00 in their third matchup of the season. The Mariners won the first two matchups by one goal each.

 

Anacortes 1, Lynden 0

The Lions fell to the Seahawks in a close game, and the Lynden season came to a close with an overall record of 7-10-1.

 

Meridian 2, Blaine 1

The Trojans put un an end to the Borderites’ season by picking up the win. Meridian received goals from sophomore Skyler Rowe and junior Kellen Todd. Blaine senior Leonardo Blanco scored his team’s lone goal on an assist from junior Isaiah Zuch. The Trojans will face Lynden Christian at Blaine High School on Saturday at 7:00 for the district championship and the lone state berth.

 

Lynden Christian 2, Nooksack Valley 0

The Lyncs kept their streak alive by winning their fifth game in a row, and by doing so they advanced to the district title game and ended the season for the Pioneers. Lynden Christian possessed the ball for nearly three quarters of the time, and LC’s wall of defense caused Nooksack Valley trouble to even attempt a shot on goal. Freshman Harvest Howell scored a goal, which was assisted by senior Malachi VanderMey, and senior Jude Decker also scored on an assist from senior Levi DeKoster. The Lyncs will battle Meridian at Blaine High School on Saturday at 7:00 for the sole state berth.

There are witnesses to a similar incident in the boys soccer play off game between Bellingham High School and Burlington-Edison on May 2, 2024. Both games were held at Civics Stadium in Bellingham, WA
