The tackling machine. In fact, no player in Whatcom County averaged more tackles per game than Rodriguez. He did so by playing a new position as well. After playing defensive end last season (and leading Whatcom County with 10 sacks), he was moved to inside linebacker for 2019. He led his team in tackles in every game that he played in. He filled in at defensive end for a quarter against Sedro-Woolley where he promptly sacked the quarterback three times, where one included a safety. He also was a dominating guard that could pull with the best of them. A three-year starter on both sides of the ball, and he was named All-Conference 1st Team at both offensive line and linebacker. He was also named All-State 2nd Team at linebacker.
