On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1992: Ferndale senior quarterback Jaxon Ernst set a school record by passing for 238 yards in a 24-17 loss to Arlington. His school record stood for 16 years.

1993: Blaine senior wide receiver Adrian Newell became the first player in Whatcom County history to catch four touchdown passes in a game. He did it in a 34-14 win over Friday Harbor. His record was eventually broken 20 years later, by another Borderite.
