ANACORTES – The Seahawks went to the air early and often as they downed the Bayhawks 49-13 on Friday night.
Bellingham had its moments in the first half, but had trouble stopping the prolific passing attack from Anacortes.
The Seahawks moved the ball for 324 yards and six touchdowns through the air alone…. in the first half. Anacortes led 42-0 at the midway break before giving way to the backups.

The Bayhawks found some rhythm in the third quarter when freshman defensive back Bryce Schupbach intercepted a pass near the goal line. The running clock quickly turned the third quarter into the fourth quarter, and quarterback Ben Leonard found wide receiver Matthew Steel streaking down the right sideline for a 35-yard touchdown.
The two seniors hooked up again later in the final period on a 19-yard touchdown pass, and Steel finished with eight receptions for 116 yards. He also led the defense with 8.5 tackles and two tackles behind the line of scrimmage from his safety spot.
The Bayhawks (2-5) will try to get things right on Friday when they travel to Burlington-Edison (4-3) to take on the Tigers at 7:00.
