Lynden 1, Bellingham 0
The Lions received a first half goal from sophomore Markus Koenen, his 13th of the season, and was able to hold on until the end against the upstart Bayhawks in the first round of the 2A district tournament. Lynden moves on the semifinal round to take on Sehome at 1:00 on Saturday at Civic Stadium for a chance to play for the district championship. Bellingham is still alive, and will face Marysville-Pilchuck at 11:00 on Saturday at Civic Stadium in a loser-out contest.
Sehome 2, Marysville-Pilchuck 0
The Mariners scored in the first half when Kevin Schroeder’s shot hit the crossbar and was ruled in before Alec Langholz punched it back in for good measure. The score remained 1-0 until the second half when Keaton Hayes scored on a free-kick to help Sehome move on to the semifinals of the district tournament where it will now face Lynden at 1:00 on Saturday at Civic Stadium.
Squalicum 4, Archbishop Murphy 0
The top-seeded Storm had very few issues in defeating the Wildcats as Maddox Strickland scored a pair of goals to help lead his team to victory. Squalicum also received goals from Isaac Grimes and Olivar Hoglin, and will now face Lakewood at 3:00 on Saturday at Civic Stadium.
Edmonds-Woodway 4, Ferndale 0
The season for the Golden Eagles came to a sudden halt as the Warriors came to town and blanked Ferndale in the first round of the 3A district tournament. Edmonds-Woodway scored in the first few minutes of the game, and the Golden Eagles were never able to recover.
