In about as even of a contest as you can find this season, the rival schools were tied at 1-1 after seven innings, each scored another run in the eighth, and when the Bayhawks scored again in the top of the ninth Mariner freshman Benjamin Ricks scored on a single from freshman Hudson Neff to tie the game a third time. Sal Backman scored two pitches later on a wild pitch to win the game. Sophomore shortstop Ryder McGrath led Sehome with three hits, including a double, while senior right fielder Riley Malloy scored two runs. Jacob Gillig struck out 12 batters for the second outing in a row, and allowed just one hit.

Down by one run going into the final inning, the Borderites came alive for four runs in the seventh and walked away with the big road win, which was highlighted by a two-run line drive single by Alejandro Moser-Hernandez. Junior Diego Guttierez picked up the win in relief, and Blaine got multiple hits from Evan Yates, Axel Puls, Grady Swinburnson, Jesse Deming and Moser-Hernandez. The Lyncs got a pair of hits from Lane Dykstra, Isaac Paxton and Logan Brink.

The Trojans found their winning ways once again, this time in shutout fashion against the Mountaineers. Sophomore Jaeger Fyfe won his fourth game of the year, while pitching a 2-hit shut out in which he struck out 10 batters over five innings. Junior catcher Ian Forbes racked up four runs batted in, and third baseman Silas Berschauer scored three runs. The Mounties got hits from Brady West and Kamden Moa.

The Lions won their sixth conference game in a row, and are really peaking at the right time. Senior Kaedan Hermanutz had a huge game as he went 3-for-4 with a homerun and three runs batted in. Lincoln VanDiest picked up his third victory of the season on the mound, and collected a pair of hits. His batter mate, Kobe Baar, also had two knocks. The Pioneers were led offensively by senior Bennett DeLange who had two runs batted in and two stolen bases.

The mighty bats of the Golden Eagles woke back up on Wednesday night to powerfully lead the Ferndale nine to victory. The Golden Eagles scored in every inning, and senior Andrew James crushed his fourth home run of the season, and also hit a double. Senior Dylan Strom collected a game-high four hits, including a triple, and Whatcom County’s leading hitter, Jake Mason, went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Junior Camden Raymond went the distance on the mound to collect his fourth win of the season.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Tigers were able to push their only two runs across. Josh Kreta pitched well enough to win, as he allowed just five hits and struck out four, while senior catcher Hayden Hollingsworth reached base three times, and senior shortstop Chase Andersen had a pair of hits.
