Whatcom Preps Analysis:
One of the most purely efficient baseball players in Whatcom County. What do coaches hate the most? Probably when their pitcher walks a batter, and when their hitter strikes out. Both a rarity for Dykstra. He struck out just four times over 75 plate appearances, and walked just six batters over nearly 40 innings of work. You wanna throw him a first-pitch breaking ball, because he will crush a first-pitch fastball anywhere near the zone. I have him as the highest rank player for the Lyncs.

“Lane is one of the most level-headed kids I have ever met. He never let his emotions get too high or too low. He was always looking to get better and was a great leader for our team this year. One memory that sticks out to me was when Lane hit a double in the gap, and I told him to stay on second and he came running around second. Luckily, he got into third. He got up and I said, “Did you see the stop sign?” and he replied ‘Coach, Brody got a triple, I wanted a triple.’”
