LIBERTY LAKE – After winning a conference and district championship, the Mariners put together a complete team effort to bring home the 2A State Championship over the weekend at MeadowWood Golf Course last week.

Sehome had four golfers make the cut after day one, with senior Hannah Hochsprung leading the way shooting a 74.

The Huntingdon College signee kept her pace on the second day, shooting a 78, and finished with a fifth place finish after a total score of 152.

Cassie Hogan finished in 12th place (167), with Kaari Little in 24th place (183) and Maddie Hogan tying for 27th (185).

As the only team to have four golfers place, it gave the Mariners the strength to bring home the first place trophy as a team, with 93 points.

Lynden’s Kinsley Rector was the only other Whatcom County athlete to place, as she finished in 14th place with a total two-day score of 169.
