Bass

Mountaineer senior quarterback Kaleb Bass began the 2018 season with 2477 career passing yards, which is 47th in Whatcom County history. Not bad for a player that still has his senior season to go, and runs the Wing-T!

His 176 passing yards against Lynden enabled him to pass Tate Dallas (2492), Andrew Zender (2578) and Brock Crawford (2592) in the Whatcom County record book. He now stands at 44th place, and he should keep climbing.

Former Mountie Jon Raney is the current Mount Baker school record holder with 2826 career passing yards. Bass is sits at 2653 career passing yards, 173 yards away from Raney.

The only other time that a Coach Lepper Mount Baker football team had a third-year starting quarterback (Zender), it got all the way to the state championship game, so Bass might have a few extra games to allow his numbers to continue growing.

Bass’s amazing grasp of the offense, along with his accuracy, should allow him to keep ascending into the elite in Whatcom County history.
