BELLINGHAM – The Red Raider football team has been blessed the past three years to have both Ethan Fields and Nick Knutson. Both athletes took on major roles as sophomores, and have been a huge part of the program ever since. Fields will be playing football at Whitworth University in Spokane, and Knutson will be playing at Pacific Lutheran Univeristy in Parkland.

Fields

Fields was one of the best defensive players in Whatcom County over the past three years, intercepting an amazing 15 passes and being named All-NWC 1st Team at defensive back twice. Also, his four defensive touchdowns scored is the most in the history of Whatcom County high school football.

He also graduates as the school’s career leader in receptions, with 97, fourth in receiving yards (1137) and second in receiving touchdowns (13). He also totaled 671 yards in kickoff return yardage.

Knutson

Knuston has started the past three seasons at quarterback for the Red Raiders, and his masterful understanding of the offense was extremely evident his senior season. As a senior he completed 134 passes for 1717 yards and 15 touchdowns, to only two interceptions.

He is Bellingham’s career leader in almost every passing category, including yards (4471), attempts (582), completions (348) and touchdowns (46). His 348 career completions is the ninth most in Whatcom County history.
