SEDRO-WOOLLEY – The Anacortes Seahawk boys had 6 runners finish in the top 10 yesterday in a dual meet versus Northwest Conference foes Ferndale and Sedro-Woolley at Northern State Recreation Area in Sedro-Woolley.

Junior Logan Hanrahan from Anacortes placed 2nd for the Seahawks running 17:40 and was the top runner for his team. Other top finishers from Anacortes were Patrick Wildman (3rd), Aiden Santos (5th), Gabe Apple (8th), Logan Scamfer (9th), and Michael Hanrahan (10th).

Sedro-Woolley’s Rafe Holz won the boys race in a time of 17:33. Lachlan Boyd was another top 10 finisher for the Cubs placing 6th.

Landon Sturdevant and Eric Maldanado were the only top finishers from Ferndale. Sturdevant placed 4th and ran 17:54 as the Golden Eagles top runner.

Like the Anacortes boys, the Anacortes girls had a bunch of runners in the top 10 yesterday in their race. A total of 4 girls led the Seahawks to high placings with senior Saville Feist winning the race running 21:24. Feist hasn’t raced in a cross country meet since her sophomore year as she was in a car accident last fall while riding her bike.

Ferndale had a trio of top 10 finishers with sophomore Jaclyn Denham leading the Golden Eagles with a 2nd place finish in a time of 21:44. Elisa Herter was 4th and Breanna Hanson was 7th.

Sedro-Woolley’s top finisher was Tessa Smith placing 5th and running 23:27.

The Anacortes Seahawks will travel to Idaho for the Coeur d’Alene Invite this weekend, and Ferndale will go to the 40th annual Carl Westling Invite at South Whidbey High School. Sedro-Woolley does not have another meet until September 19th.
