The only thing that Borderite senior Mesa Puls didn’t do was hit a single. She walked, doubled, tripled, homered, drove in seven runs, scored four runs, stole two bases and got the complete game victory in the circle as Blaine picked up the win on the road. Puls was aided by sophomore shortstop Courtney Roff who went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three stolen bases. Mountaineer senior Cadence Cloninger also had a big day as she went 3-for-3 with a single, double and homerun. She also struck out eight batters over five innings.

The Eagles scored a run in each of the first three innings, and the Lyncs had to play catch-up for the rest of the game. Alivia Brink hit a solo home run, and Taylor Craig knocked in Taya Vander Kooi, but that would be all the offense that Lynden Christian could produce. Roxanne Lenning struck out eight batters and allowed just six hits in the complete game effort.

In their second game of the day, the Lyncs bounced back in a big way as Kensley VanSoest’s double in the fourth inning brought home Taylor Craig to open the scoring. The Knights were able to tie it up in the following inning, but Lynden Christian re-took the lead in the sixth when Craig hit a solo shot, and it was quickly followed up by a 2-run blast off the bat of Alivia Brink. Roxanne Lenning was a strikeout machine as she sat down 16 batters on strikes.

The Tigers came to town and snapped the Lions’ three-game winning streak in a rematch of last season’s 2A district championship game. Lynden’s run came in the bottom of the sixth when Sarah McVie led off the inning with a double, and then came around to score when Campbell DeJong singled up the middle. Both players finished with a pair of hits. Callie Ramerman struck out 13 batters and gave up just four hits.

Lakewood 17, Bellingham 9
The Bayhawks flew out to a 5-run lead after one inning as they batted around, but the Cougars were able to come back in the following inning, and eventually hold on for the win. Senior Izzy Rogers practically lived on the bases all game as she singled, doubled, was hit by a pitch and walked three times. She also scored three runs to lead Bellingham. The Bayhawks also got a pair of runs driven in from Carmen Rodriguez, Olivia Favro and Ada Bowen. Ray Jackson struck out four batters over her six innings in the circle.

Anacortes 17, Sehome 4
Mariner senior Sarah Kruzich struck out 11 batters and hit a 2-run homerun, but it wasn’t enough as Sehome fell at home against the Seahawks. Senior Jordan Walker led the Mariners with two hits, as they also got base hits from Mariah Anderson, Madeleine Hutchinson and Marie Wheat.
