Bainbridge 2, Squalicum 1

The Storm got off to a great start when junior Maddox Strickland scored his 39th goal of the season in the first few minutes of the 2A state championship game, and the score remained 1-0 throughout the first half. Ten minutes into the second half, the Spartans blocked a clearance attempt, which was followed up by a tremendous assist and goal to equalize the score at 1-1. An intense battle took place over the final 30-plus minutes of regulation, as well as the 10 extra minutes of overtime, where no goals were scored. It had to be settled with a penalty kick shootout. After the first two attempts from each team, the shootout was tied at 1-1, but Bainbridge was able to score on its next two while blocking the next two Storm attempts, and that would be it as Squalicum settled for the second-place trophy after its first loss of the season.

Vashon Island 3, Meridian 0

The Pirates came out strong, and led 2-0 after one half of play, as those would be the first two goals that the Trojans had allowed in the entire state tournament. Vashon Island added a third goal in the second half, but Meridian’s second-place finish still went down as the highest in school history. The Trojans entered the state tournament as the 12th seed, and endured three grueling matches before getting to the 1A state championship game.

Columbia River 2, Sehome 1

The Rapids scored both of their goals in the first half, and the Mariners fought hard in the second half, but their attempted comeback fell just short. Senior Mason Ivcevic scored on a penalty kick roughly halfway through the second half, but were unable to score the much needed game-tying goal. Sehome finished the season 4th place in the 2A classification.
