Meridian 26, Squalicum 5

The Strom got on the board first with when Addison Hauber singled home Gabi Gearhart, but the Trojans scored 11 in the bottom of the first inning, and continued to score throughout the game. Meridian senior Katie Prengaman had another great game with four hits, six runs batted in and she was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. She also struck out 12 batters and didn’t walk any. Trojan junior Sydney TenKley scored five runs to help lead the offense. Squalicum was led offensively by Hauber who had pair of hits, including a triple, and three runs batted in.

Borderite senior pitcher Emersyn Bakker allowed just one hit and struck out 13 batters to lead her team to the non-conference victory. Senior Teya Zaddack doubled in two runs in the bottom of the second inning to give Blaine a 2-1 lead. Bakker drove in her team’s third run in the bottom of the third, and the Borderites added on in the sixth inning when a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Mesa Puls scored junior Shaylie Daniels.

Cedarcrest 3, Lynden 2

Freshman Callie Ramerman pitched well enough to win, but the Lions dropped a close one on the road. She allowed just two hits and struck out 10 batters, and took the tough luck loss. Lynden got hits from seniors Kasi Thomas, Trinity Andrew and Sierra Alexander, as well as junior Melanie Anderson.

Lakewood 6, Mount Baker 2

The Mountaineers suffered just their second loss of the season when the Cougars scored in each of the final four innings, and Mount Baker was unable to come back. Annalee Cohn and Kara Welters scored in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead, but Lakewood tied it up in fourth, took the lead in the fifth and added on in the sixth and seventh. Senior pitcher Ava Jeretzky struck out nine batters and walked just one in her complete game effort in the circle.
