The Trojans scored 23 runs in the third inning and didn’t allow a hit throughout the game as Meridian won in dominating fashion. Senior second baseman Jacob Amundson had four hits and scored four runs to lead the barrage. Silas Berschauer struck out six batters in three innings, and Jonah Aase struck out five more in his two innings of work. Right fielder Tristan Wang knocked in five runs, Aase reached base six times and freshmen Trey Alexander and Landon Rowley each finished with a double and four runs batted in.

The Tomahawks led 1-0 after three innings, but the Bayhawks tied it in the fourth and exploded for 11 runs in the fifth. Senior pitcher Jake Troost threw all five innings, struck out 10 batters and allowed just three hits to pick up his first victory of the season. Sophomore shortstop Kai Nelson belted two doubles while he, Troost and senior first baseman Jesse Harward each knocked in a pair of runs.

Sophomore Treyson Johnson’s single to left field scored Austin Engels in the top of the 10th inning in what ended up as the game-winning run. Senior Brody Bouwman pitched five innings of relief and struck out the final batter of the game with two runners on as the Lyncs moved to 3-0 on the season. Senior shortstop Jonah Terpstra collected a team-high four hits as Engels scored two runs and Johnson had two runs batted in. Johnson also pitched the first five innings of the game and gave up four hits while striking out four.

Marysville-Getchell 10, Squalicum 1

The Chargers took advantage of six Storm errors to pick up the non-conference win at home. Josh Kreta scattered seven hits over five innings of work on the mound while also striking out four batters, but suffered the loss. Sophomore catcher Henry Ingersoll scored Squalicum’s lone run in the third inning. The Storm got base hits from Ingersoll, Max Wright, Colby Lewis, Billy Scammell and Ben Hebert.
