FERNDALE 3, SEHOME 1

Gilday

The Golden Eagles wouldn’t be denied on their senior night at they defeated the Mariners the first two sets 25-23 and 26-24. Sehome came back to win the third set 25-19 before Ferndale ended it with a 25-21 victory in set number four.

Burfeind

And, it was the two Golden Eagle seniors that shined the brightest as Tia Gilday led her team in kills (15) and blocks (2.5) and Mallory Butenschoen led her team in digs with 16.

Sophomore Katrina Ferry had 14 digs and junior Olivia Copps had 13 digs, while freshman Brooklyn Larrabee had 35 assists, nine digs, three aces, three kills and a block.

Mariner senior Molly Burfeind had 25 digs to lead defensively, and junior Maddie Behrends had 11 kills and two blocks.

Sehome sophomore Hayden Niewiadomski had a strong double-double with 17 kills and 22 digs, and junior Emmy Lee had 37 assists and six digs.

 

LYNDEN 3, ANACORTES 0

Koetje

The Lions finished conference play by defeating the Seahawks 25-18, 25-11 and 25-21. Not only that, but they didn’t drop a single set in the conference the entire season.

Senior Haylee Koetje served up five aces to go along with her nine kills and six digs in the contest, while senior Ashley Shumate added 13 kills, two aces and three digs.

Freshman Finley Parcher contributed seven kills and a team-high two blocks, while senior Mya VanderYacht led with 13 digs and senior Grace Rice had 32 assists, two aces, four kills and three digs.

 

BLAINE 3, MOUNT VERNON 2

Dube

On senior night, it wasn’t looking good for the Borderites who were down two sets after the Bulldogs beat them 25-22 and 25-19 to start the match.

However, Blaine wouldn’t quit. Instead, the orange and black clawed back by winning the next three sets 25-14, 25-18 and 15-13.

The Borderite defense got them back into the game, and it was led by the 23 digs from senior Deja Dube. Blaine also got double-digit digs from senior Teya Zaddack (16), junior Kaitlyn Harrington (15), junior Brie Smith (15), senior Emersyn Bakker (14) and senior Bella Vezzetti (11).

Harrington and Vezzetti also combined for 35 assists, Bakker had a team-high four aces and Zaddack finished with 14 kills.
