FERNDALE 3, BLAINE 0

Vezzetti

The Golden Eagles picked up their first win of the season by defeating the Borderites 25-14, 25-15 and 25-19 at home.

Senior Mallory Butenschoen led Ferndale with seven kills and five aces, while also digging out 10, and freshman setter Brooklyn Larrabee dished out 22 assists to go with her seven digs.

Sophomore Katrina Ferry led the Golden Eagles with 14 digs, while her and junior Olivia Copps each had four aces.

Blaine was led by the 10 assists, seven kills and two aces by senior Bella Vezzetti. Junior Kaitlyn Harrington added six kills, eight assists and a block for the visiting Borderites.

 

LYNDEN 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 0

Koetje

The Lions kept their perfect record in tact, this time by traveling less than a mile to take on the Lyncs, and winning 25-12, 25-18 and 25-12.

Senior Ashley Shumate continued her hot streak with 13 kills, while freshman Finley Parcher and senior Haylee Koetje each added eight kills of their own. Koetje also tallied 15 digs while in the back court.

Senior Mya VanderYacht also picked up 15 digs, and senior setter Grace Rice totaled 30 assists for the second straight match.

 

MERIDIAN 3, SQUALICUM 1

Wells

The Trojans made quick work of the Storm in the first set, winning 25-11, but Squalicum came back to win a hard-fought second set 25-23 before Meridian won the final two sets, 25-17 and 25-19 at home.

It was a terrific serving night for the Trojans who combined for 20 aces in the match, led by junior Grace Wells who had five, while senior Emry Claeys, sophomore Kinsley Neal and freshman Eden Bernardy had four each.

Claeys was again all over the court with 23 kills and nine digs. Junior Rylan Bernardy led the Trojans with 21 digs, and Wells was constantly setting up her teammates and finished with 40 assists.
