Montesano 10, Blaine 0

The bunting Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, playing mostly small ball, and the Borderites couldn’t regroup. The victory by Montesano put them in the championship game, in which they defeated Royal 8-2. Senior Piper Nissen led the game off with a base hit up the middle, and MaKenna Wright also picked up a single, but they would be the only two hits of the game for Blaine. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak.

Deer Park 8, Blaine 3

The Borderites gave up six runs in the final two innings before ultimately falling to the Stags. Deer Park also eliminated Lynden Christian from the state tournament. Blaine got on the board first when Piper Nissen doubled home Mesa Puls in the bottom of the third. A two-run homerun by Emersyn Bakker in the bottom of the fourth gave the Borderites a 3-2 lead, but Deer Park’s offense came alive late. Blaine also got base hits from Jordyn Vezzetti and MaKenna Wright. The Borderites season came to an end with a 21-4 record, the best in school history.
